Find your course at VU

VU is one of the few universities in Australia that offers both vocational education TAFE courses, degrees and higher qualifications. This means more courses and greater opportunities.

Vocational education (TAFE) provides the opportunity to complete Certificates I to Certificate IV, Diploma and Advanced Diploma, providing a pathway to employment and higher education.

Higher education offers a variety of degrees requiring a minimum of three years study, as well as double degrees, Honours programs, masters qualifications and beyond.

Study options

If you complete a TAFE course and want to move into higher education you can apply to transfer credit to a degree. VU offers recognition of prior learning so you can gain credit for previous study and / or work experience.

Completing Year 12 and gaining an ATAR score gives your greater opportunity and flexibility, however some careers don't require Year 12.  You may like to consider a traineeship or apprenticeship in a trade or technical area, or career as a para-professional.

If you are returning to study you can also complete your VCE at VU.

Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF)

The AQF recognises education qualifications and institutions that support national standards in education and training. It means that  you can look at a summary of qualifications and see if you can move from one  level of study to the next, and even from one institution to another as long as you satisfy other student entry and visa requirements.

Check the VTAC website for more information on entry requirements and how to apply for TAFE and higher education courses.

Events for future students

If you're thinking about studying at VU, see our calendar of events for future students.

These events are opportunities for you to speak with our recruitment staff, lecturers, tutors and current students who can help you find out more about our courses.

Best of all they're on our campuses, and they're all free!
