Master of Business (Global Logistics and Transport)
Workplace learning: FareShare Melbourne
"Victoria University gave me a great education and supported me with facilities and services to help me experience university life to the full.
I was an overseas student, initially poor in English. The teaching staff at VU were always helpful and open. They understood our language barriers and cultural differences, and always worked to help us succeed.
During my last year I did a workplace placement at FareShare, an organisation that helps deliver food to Melbourne’s hungry and homeless. FareShare ‘rescues’ surplus food from retailers that would otherwise end up in landfill. My placement with them was a great experience.
In Thailand – before coming to VU – I worked in the automotive industry for seven years. My studies here have consolidated my future direction to work in an industry that is exciting and always changing.
After graduating I went straight into a job with Linfox RDC, one of Australia’s biggest supply and logistics companies.
I am planning further study as Linfox has developed a complete end-to-end supply chain management solution based on SAP software, which automates freight and warehouse management. This solution saves substantial costs and time for customers, and learning SAP will be useful for me and the business."
