Help is available at VU
Adjusting to university life can be difficult. It involves meeting new people, adopting new routines, skills and coping with extra expenses. This is coupled with the demands of study and life outside university.
We provide a range of free services to support you while you study. Everyone at Victoria University (VU) is responsible for ensuring a safe campus environment and we have emergency guidelines in place so you know what to do in case of an emergency.
In this section:
- Chaplaincy
- Victoria University embraces and celebrates the religious and spiritual diversity of our community. We know that some faiths require religious observance such as prayer or other ceremonial activities. To support this, we provide a range of religious and spiritual spaces for staff and students, and a number of multi-faith chaplains that can be contacted for spiritual advice and guidance.
- Counselling services
- Our counsellors provide free and confidential support on issues that may affect your learning and wellbeing. This section contains information on how we can assist you with personal or study related issues at all stages of your university life.
- International Student Support
- We have an International Student Support (ISS) team that is committed to supporting you from your initial enquiries through to when you become an alumnus.
- Student advisory service
- Our student advisers offer comprehensive information and a referral service for issues relating to your educational progress.
- Welfare services
- Our welfare officers provide free and confidential support and assistance with practical skills to better manage your time, money and personal issues so that you can concentrate on improving your results and having a better time while you're at university.
