Student Leadership Qualifications

Under the Student Leadership Training and Development Program, you can gain either a Certificate III in community service, Certificate IV in Frontline Management or a Diploma of Management to compliment your current studies. These qualifications are free of charge and you will not need to attend any classes to gain these. You will also gain a commendation line on your academic transcript.

The aim of the qualifications is to thank you and formally recognise your commitment in leadership activities.

To gain these qualifications, you must compile a portfolio which documents your involvement in Victoria University and the community. Involvement may include:

  • volunteer work (such as V4U)
  • participation in workshops, seminars, conferences, forums or meetings
  • representation on a Victoria University or community council or board (such as Student Leadership Council)
  • participation in a Victoria University or community event organisation
  • participation in leadership programs and activities

Key criteria and compulsory workshops must be addressed and completed to acquire the qualifications and must be included in the submitted portfolio. Your portfolio will be judged in front of a panel, which will determine your qualification level. Support and guidance will be offered if you apply to this program.

Please note, at this time International Students are only eligible to receive a commendation line, not an additional qualification.

To apply:

We will email you to notify when the next session of compulsory workshops are running. Keep a copy of all the evidence and documents of your involvement in VU and the community.
