3 Minute Thesis competition
The Three Minute Thesis Competition (3MT) is a yearly event held across most Australian universities.
Participants have three minutes to give an engaging and informative talk on their thesis topic and its significance to the wider community. Competitors must use language appropriate to an intelligent but non-specialist audience, and are permitted the use of one PowerPoint slide.
Initial heats are held at faculty level. Competitors who are successful in their faculty heat will go on to compete in the VU 3MT Final. The winner of the VU final will go on to compete in the 3MT trans-Tasman final.
