Free Financial Management Workshops for Seniors

Victoria University (VU), on behalf of the Victorian Government’s Office of Senior Victorians, is running free financial management workshops aimed at older Victorians.

These five-day workshops are open to people who have retired or are about to retire.

You will cover the following modules:

Day 1:

  • Tracking your money - budgets and budgetting
  • Developing a financial plan - making money work for you

Day 2:

  • Managing money, managing credit, managing debt
  • Scams, swindles and safety

Day 3:

  • Retirement planning – financial matters
  • Superannuation
  • Reverse mortgages

Day 4:

  • Funerals ‐ bonds, insurance and prepaid plans
  • Where there’s a will...and other state planning preparations

Day 5:

  • Where, what and how? Housing and accommodation options
  • Carers and financial care
