Victoria University (VU) offers scholarships to assist postgraduate research and international students with the costs of study. Postgraduate research students should refer to research scholarships and postgraduate international students should refer to international scholarships. Postgraduate coursework students may be eligible for externally funded scholarships.

Commonwealth scholarships

The new Commonwealth Scholarship program commenced 1 April 2010. New Commonwealth Scholarships will be paid to eligible higher education students by Centrelink. You will not need to apply for a Commonwealth Scholarship. Further information is available from Centrelink.

If you are a VU Student who is already in receipt of a Commonwealth Scholarship (Commonwealth Education Cost or Commonwealth Accommodation) you will continue to be paid by us (Victoria University), until :

• you are no longer eligible, or
• eight scholarship payments have been made, or
• you complete your course.

 Externally funded scholarships

A number of external organisations offer scholarships for postgraduate students. We advertise these scholarships at externally funded scholarships. This information is updated every month so please refer back on a regular basis.
