To achieve a Diploma of Hairdressing Salon Management, 10 units must be completed comprising: - 6 core units, plus - 4 elective units.
What's a unit?
A unit or 'subject' is the actual class you'll attend in the process of completing a course.
Most courses have a mixture of compulsory 'core' units that you need to take, and optional 'elective' units that you can choose to take based on your area of interest, expertise or experience.

- TAFE: Reading and writing - a learner will be able to read and comprehend a range of simple texts and write a range of short texts in a number of contexts which may be interrelated. Oral communication - a learner will be able to use and respond to spoken language within a variety of contexts. Numeracy and mathematics - a learner will be able to deal easily with straightforward calculations either manually and/or using a calculator.
