Course Objectives

This qualification provides the skills and knowledge to be able to demonstrate:- basic operational knowledge in a moderate range of areas. - apply a defined range of skills. - apply problem solving techniques. - information and time management.

Select Specialisation units from the list in the Metal and Engineering Training Package, Version 1, dated January 2006 to the value of at least 53 points, including any prerequisites.

20 weeks Full-time Full-time,Part-time or Flexible.

A unit or 'subject' is the actual class you'll attend in the process of completing a course.

Most courses have a mixture of compulsory 'core' units that you need to take, and optional 'elective' units that you can choose to take based on your area of interest, expertise or experience.

Admission Information

  • TAFE: To qualify for admission to this course students will need to be assessed by the Department as being capable of successfully completing the course; or a combination of educational and life experience; or be employed as a Trainee in an Approved Traineeship Scheme.
  • Year 12: To qualify for admission to this course students will need to be assessed by the Department as being capable of successfully completing the course; or a combination of educational and life experience; or be employed as a Trainee in an Approved Traineeship Scheme.
  • International: Not Applicable
  • Mature: To qualify for admission to this course students will need to be assessed by the Department as being capable of successfully completing the course; or a combination of educational and life experience; or be employed as a Trainee in an Approved Traineeship Scheme.
