Gain hands-on skills to enter the conservation and land management field. Prepare yourself for jobs related to gardening, landscaping, local council bush crews, parks and gardens. Learn fundamental skills including how to build and repair fences, operate machinery such as brush-cutters and small building tools, build paths and recognise Indigenous plants and animals.

A focus of the course is learning how to recognise, record and manage natural areas, and sites special to Kooris. Cultural and personal empowerment through job-seeking skills and mentoring from community leaders is another important feature.
