Course handbooks & guides

The best way to find up-to-date information about courses and units that you can apply for is through our course finder search.

Some faculties have also produced detailed pdf versions of their faculty course structures. The course structure documents have information about the correct number and type of units for course completion, especially important for courses with electives and specialisations.

On this page, most of the links give you access to information about discontinued or archived courses in online or PDF versions.

2013 course handbooks (in pdf format)

From 1 January 2013 a new integrated College structure will replace our previous six Faculties. The college structure will offer students a curriculum incorporating Higher Education and TAFE.

Our new Colleges are:

  • Arts
  • Business
  • Education
  • Engineering and Science
  • Health and Biomedicine
  • Law and Justice
  • Sport and Exercise Science
  • Trades College.

Each faculty at VU has its own printed publication called a Student Handbook. These provide comprehensive details on all the courses for each faculty.

These are the latest handbooks* for the 2013 teaching year:

* These are print publications produced for government compliance purposes in the year preceding print: some of the information may have changed slightly since printing.

For the most up-to-date information on our courses use our course finder.

2013 course guides

Our Victoria University Course Guides offer a quick overview of courses offered by the University to domestic students in 2013. These include further and vocational education (TAFE) courses, and higher education undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Download the Guides:

The Guides also include details on:

  • how to apply for courses
  • student services and assistance
  • facilities and campuses

These course guides were published early in 2012 for people selecting courses to study in 2013.

The information in the printed course guides may not be as up to date as our course finder, so keep that in mind.

Discontinued courses (for continuing students only)

Our course search only lists courses that are currently accepting students or will have an intake of new students in future.

If you are looking for information about discontinued courses (courses no longer offered or those available to continuing students only), choose an Achived course handbook and search for the course within.

Archived course handbooks

These are pdf versions of printed handbooks dating back to 2002. You can search the pdf files for old course and unit information.
