This course is aimed at training participants in bookkeeping and accounting skills required for day-to-day business transactions. It is an excellent introduction to manual bookkeeping before you learn any computerised accounting software.
Basic Bookkeeping will suit people who need an understanding of the fundamentals of accounting for use in a small business and it is an ideal preparation for employment as an accounts clerk or bookkeeper.

- Basic accounting practices and procedures
- Preparation of journals and posting to ledgers
- Columnar and tabular chart of accounts
- General journals, cash journals and other journals
- Accounting for GST and BAS
- Bank reconciliation and petty cash journals
- Payroll accounting and EFT payments
- Preparing simple final reports
