This course is designed to help students develop skills in the use of computerised accounting software (MYOB) in a business environment at an advanced level. The course will cover a wide range of skills including setting up payroll details and balancing chequebooks.

Course contents

The following topics will be covered in the course:

-specialist skills in troubleshooting
-preferences and linkages
-importing and exporting files
-work with cards for customers and vendors
-balance the company chequebook and reconcile accounts with statement
-customise MYOB
-enter historical balances for receivables and payables
-work with an existing inventory and create auto-build items
-use the relevant reporting features of MYOB to extract relevant and timely information
-set up payroll and enter employee details
-use and modify a chart of accounts for a company
-create pay cheques and analyse payroll reports.
