About this course

This course provides students with skills in advanced level concepts behind business accounting practices and procedures.  

Students will learn about:

  • preparation and examination of trial balance
  • statement of financial performance and position
  • working capital and cash flow statements
  • accrual accounting for trading and service concerns

Participants are trained in advanced level bookkeeping using double entry accounting principles covering important transaction types and procedures.

Course contents

The following topics are covered in the course:

-advanced level accounting practices and procedures
-preparation of trial balance and final reports
-preparation of cash flow statements, reconciliation and fund movements
-concepts of operating, investing and financing activities
-accrual accounting, prepayments and income in advance
-depreciation, bad debts and provisions
-year end employee tax obligations- PAYG, FBT, Payroll Tax
-payment summary, employee benefits and leave
-calculation of net profit, tax deductions, taxable income and tax payable.
