If you are an international student planning your career, preparing for work, or finding a job in Australia may be different from your own country. We can help you understand workplace culture in Australia, as well as provide advice on how to have your overseas qualifications assessed before entering the workforce or undertaking further study.

International student resources

Australian based employers require you to have the legal right to work in Australia. This will require you to have either Australian citizenship or permanent residency (PR) status. The specific eligibility requirements will often vary between individual employers, therefore if you do not have your permanent residency (PR), it's important to check your eligibility to apply.

To be eligible to apply for most visas under the Australian Government's General Skilled Migration (GSM) program, you need 12 months' post-qualification work experience and a high level of English language ability.

For more information on gaining permanent residency and all aspects of visa requirements for Australia visit the Australian Department of Immigration and Citizenship.
