Malaysian chapter event 2010

The Malaysia chapter was established in 1997 to bring together graduates from business, hospitality and nursing.

The Malaysia chapter committee has a diverse membership of graduates including business graduates from Footscray Institute in the 1970s and 1980s, nursing graduates from Assunta Hospital and recent business graduates from Sunway University College programs.

This chapter has an active committee which conducts its own event program and contributes to events such as the Malaysian-Australian Alumni Council Annual Go-Kart Challenge.

In 2006, the Chapter welcomed the addition of the VU MBA Club; a networking group for current MBA students, and the VU Business Club, which provides an active forum for undergraduate business student networking.

The President of the Malaysia Chapter is Mr Chua, Teck Boon.

Singapore chapter

The Singapore chapter celebrated its ten year anniversary in 2007 with a dinner at Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel where 20 dedicated alumni enjoyed the celebrations and reminisced about their days as students of VU.

The dedicated management committee of the Singapore Chapter organises a calendar of networking and social events each year. Members of the Singapore chapter also enthusiastically take part in activities in other regions as well.

The President of the Singapore Chapter is Mr Seah, Kim Swee.

Hong Kong chapter

We have around 3,000 graduates in Hong Kong who come from a range of study areas.
Our graduates have studied either in Hong Kong, through partnerships with teaching institutions such as SPACE, and the Chinese University of Hong Kong and MEI, or in Melbourne, on one of the campuses.

The President, Ms Panny Chow leads an enthusiastic and dedicated Hong Kong Chapter committee in organising events and activities for local alumni.

China network

 

Beijing Alumni dinner 2010

The China Alumni Network was established in 2006 and has two groups centred around Beijing and Shenyang. 
A dedicated group of volunteers work to bring a number of events to our China-based alumni.

A VU graduation ceremony is held in Beijing each year, and provides an opportunity to bring new and existing alumni together.

Vietnam chapter

There are two graduates groups belonging to the Vietnam chapter and they are centred around Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

This is an informal network currently in the early stages of development.

Bangladesh chapter

This chapter is still in development. Alumni Relations is working with representatives in the local area to develop events and activities suitable to graduates based in Bangladesh.

Thailand chapter

The Thailand chapter was established in 2005. Past events have included charity bowling parties, celebration events and other networking functions.

All Thai alumni are also encouraged to join the chapter's hi5 page where you can not only see upcoming events and activities but a photo gallery of past events.

The President of the Thailand Chapter is Dr Jack Suksaard.
