Director, Innovation and Commercial Development
Tina Rankovic is the Director, Innovation and Commercial Development at Victoria University. In this role, Tina is responsible for all commercial revenue associated with the University's teaching, research and knowledge exchange activities, including the commercialisation of intellectual property.
Additionally, Tina is a Member of both the Industry and Community Engagement Management Advisory Committee and the Research and Research Training Committee as well as the Management Committee of the Institute of Sport, Exercise and Active Living (ISEAL) of Victoria University.
Tina is passionate about seeing Australian innovation developed into products and services for domestic and global markets. Tina is an experienced CEO and general manager with a strong business management and technical background. Her expertise gained in Australia and internationally includes:

From 2006 - 2008, Tina was the inaugural Chief Executive Officer and an Executive Director of the Australian Nano Business Forum (ANBF), the peak national body representing and promoting Australian industries and companies involved in nanotechnology.
Prior to this, she was the Director, Commercialisation - Life and Physical Sciences for Monash Commercial with responsibility for medicine, science, engineering and nanotechnology.
From 2002-2005, Tina was the inaugural Head of Commercialisation at the Baker Heart Research Institute, where she established the commercialisation function and underpinning commercial processes.
Prior to her entry into the education and research sector, Tina was the National Business Development Manager - Orthopaedics for Mayne Group Ltd with responsibility for a AU$250M portfolio, which followed eight years working in senior sales and marketing roles in the Zimmer division of Bristol - Myers Squibb Australia Pty Ltd.
Tina has a Diploma of Diagnostic Radiography (Sturt College of Advanced Education, SA) and her post-graduate qualifications include a Graduate Diploma of Management (Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology) and a Masters of Business degree majoring in innovation and marketing management (Swinburne University of Technology).
Additionally, Tina is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) and has completed the AICD Company Directors course.
