Associate Director, Language Literacy and Numeracy

Corinna Ridley has had an extensive career in the fields of adult literacy education and adult ESL including teaching curriculum and resource development and professional development.

Corinna has worked at VU for a number of years, as both a teacher and in a number of leadership positions, most recently as Head of School Teaching and Learning for VU College where she was responsible for leadership and oversight of the teaching and learning activities of the College.

In this role she supported the development of a range of LLN support programs, curriculum development projects, and innovative professional development programs. Since taking up the role of Head of School she has supported continued growth of learning support services across both sectors of the University and through the work of her School has provided support to a range of significant University initiatives including the embedding of academic skill development in curriculum, and the extension of Students Supporting Student Learning Programs.

Corinna also worked for the Adult Education Resource and Information Service and Language Australia, and in this role assisted in the development and implementation of of a number of significant curriculum projects including the Certificates of General Education for Adults, and The Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning. Her role here also involved supporting the Occupational English test through running training and moderation for assessors.

Corinna continues to teach on an occasional basis, through lecturing in the Masters of TESOL in Vietnam for VU and most recently lecturing in the Graduate Certificate in Tertiary Education

Corinna is also a member of the Victorian Adult Basic Education Council, the Australian Council for Adult Literacy, and the Association for Academic Language and Learning.
