Professor Anne Jones

Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and Students)

Anne is the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic and Students) at Victoria University with responsibility for the University's teaching and learning and students. She has responsibility for:

• Victoria University International
• VU College
• Work-based Education Research Centre (WERC)

Anne also has strategic oversight of the University's contract with State Government. 

She is currently working on developing a new tertiary education curriculum framework for the University. At VU she has also led the repositioning of the University’s VET provision to better meet the needs of existing workers and the delivery of emerging skills.  

Until late 2006 Anne was Executive Director Learning and Academic Affairs at Box Hill Institute. There she led the development of Box Hill's Global Education Network and its substantial higher education delivery.  

Anne's experience in the Victorian TAFE system has involved working with a wide range of industries including:

• petrochemical
• chemical
• biomedical research
• animal breeding
• mining, meat and other food manufacturers
• environmental
• zoo-keeping, health and community services.

She has led state-wide and national projects and undertaken industry training consultations in Australia and overseas.  She has a longstanding interest in work-based delivery and pedagogies for the workplace. 

Anne also has a strong interest in developing teacher capability and professionalism and her doctoral research investigated how VET practitioners make assessment judgements.
