Electrical
Electrical skills are highly sought after. An electrical qualification can lead to a career as a domestic, commercial or industrial electrician. The ever changing technology in electrical and computer systems means that your career will continue to grow. All our certificate courses have pathways to higher certificates as well as degrees.
Certificate II in Electrotechnology Studies (Pre-Vocational) is a great introductory course that will give you a competitive edge when seeking an electrical apprenticeship.

Electrotechnology
Electrotechnology is a hi-tech industry which covers all aspects of electrical, electronic, instrumentation and communication technologies. Our Electrotechnology courses allow you to specialise in fluid power, hydraulics and pneumatics, competitive (lean) manufacturing, civil and mechanical engineering, engineering software applications, CNC, CAD and CAM.
Our certificate will give you the skills needed for a technical role in the electrical industries such as design and problem solving, programming and commissioning of equipment and facilities, supervisory roles as well as pathways to higher certificates and degrees.

Fabrication
Fabrication takes flat sheet of metals and creates shapes and profiles for use in aircraft, catering and general engineering industries. Our industry uses a wide range of source materials.
VU has the largest fabrication training centre in the Southern Hemisphere. Our purpose built facilities in Sunshine, have been fitted with the technology needed to ensure our progressive courses remain at the cutting-edge of our industry.

Fitting and Turning (machining)
The ability to create fine detailed objects such as cam shafts for motor vehicles, pump details for use in engine parts using the latest machining technologies.
Victoria University’s Sunshine campus provides high level training for fitting and turning careers. The campus has a simulated factory-like learning environment with an automation set-up, designed to scale. The students learn using the latest systems control technology. They are able to develop their skills ensuring they graduate confident in their abilities in a practical environment.
