Associate Professor Danny Ben-Moshe is Director of ICEPA. He has been a research leader at Victoria University since 2001. Danny has a B.A. (Hons) in law and politics (1990) from the School of Oriental and African Studies at the University of London, and his PhD at Melbourne University (2000) focused on organised racist groups and racism in Australia. He was previously the Executive Director (1996-2000) of the Australia/New Zealand B'nai B'rith Anti-Defamation Commission, and the Director (1992) of the Jerusalem office of the British-Israel Public Afairs Center.

Danny has been published internationally on many of the subjects above. He has also written a large number of non-academic publications in newspapers and magazines including The Age, The Australian, The Canberra Times, The Australian Jewish News and The Jerusalem Post. Danny is the co-editor of Israel, the Diaspora and Jewish Identity, Sussex Academic Press, 2007.
Danny entered into academia to create and share knowledge, and in 2005 this led him to make his first documentary film, The Buchenwald Ball.

Community Engagement
Danny applies Victoria University's community engagement principles to his work that entails entering into genuine partnerships with organisations in undertaking research. As Director of ICEPA and its Social and Cultural Diversity hub, Danny is closely involved with the Horn of Africa Communities Network, and also a range of community groups across the Western region of Melbourne, including the Bosnian and Macedonian communities. Danny is also active in the Jewish community.
