Research Interests

Dr Marcelle Cacciattolo is a sociologist and an experienced lecturer in the School of Education at Victoria University. Marcelle has worked on a wide range of research projects and her current research interests include:

  • refugee settlement in Australia alongside the use of digital technology in educational settings
  • inclusive pedagogies in tertiary settings and youth programs that facilitate empowerment and proactive change for young people.

Organisational and Community Involvement

Marcelle's other major responsibility involves the co-coordination of the Bachelor of Education Project Partnership Program. Through this work Marcelle's has strengthened and facilitated links with educational networks and government bodies.

Marcelle is the Chair of Community Connect. Community Connect is a partnership that involves three secondary schools in the Northern suburbs, pre-service teachers at Victoria University and the Hume Global Learning Centre in Broadmeadows.

Marcelle is also a school council member for Gladstone Park Secondary College.
