Refugee projects within the Cultural Diversity research area include the following:

Refugee Access  and Participation in Tertiary Education and Training
The purpose of this project was to identify issues faced by refugees in, or seeking access to, the tertiary education and training sector. It also evaluated the education and training programs, alternative entry schemes and any other support services which assist refugees to realise their educational goals in Victorian universities and TAFE institutes.

A  PDF report (737KB) was produced with recommendations about how refugee access to tertiary education and training can be best advanced.

Refugee  Relocation to Rural and Regional Areas
This action research evaluation of refugee relocation projects in Swan Hill and Warrnambool was funded by VicHealth and had a particular emphasis on good practice and the impact of relocation on the mental health and wellbeing of the refugees and temporary protection visa holders.

Research into the Settlement Experiences of Newly arrived Humanitarian Entrants
This study evaluated and identified the settlement needs of newly arrived humanitarian entrants in Australia. It tooka holistic approach and included key components of refugee settlement such as: economic opportunities; education; and, physical and social wellbeing.
