Jon Hickman

Deputy Vice-Chancellor
(Capital and Management Services)

Jon Hickman is currently Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Capital and Management Services) at Victoria University. He provides strategic leadership to the University's resources and capital planning, facilities management, staffing policies and practices, and workforce development.

Jon has had over 20 years experience as a senior manager across Commonwealth, state and local government organisations and in the private and community sectors. Positions held in Government included Deputy Secretary in the Tasmanian Treasury, Corporate Manager at the City of Melbourne, Chief Executive Officer at the City of Port Phillip, and Deputy Secretary at the Department of Infrastructure, responsible for Planning, Local Government, Heritage and Market Information.

From 2000, he worked in the private sector before taking up a leading role as National Director, Corporate Services with the Australian Crime Commission. Prior to joining Victoria University, Jon was the Chief Operating Officer at Wesley College, Melbourne.
