    Professor John McCallum is the Senior Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Education Programs) at Victoria University. He graduated with a Bachelor of Economics (Honours Psychology) and the University Medal from University of Queensland and Masters (MPhil) and Doctoral (DPhil) Degrees from University of Oxford. He is the recipient of many awards including the Federation Medal and Fellowship of the Academy of Social Sciences Australia.

    Professor McCallum is a leading international scholar in policy and longitudinal studies of ageing and in public health measurement. He has an extensive list of peer-reviewed publications including more than 50 from the Dubbo Longitudinal Study of Ageing. He has been a member of the National Health and Medical Research Council Health Advisory and Australian Health Ethics Committees and committees of the Australian Research Council.

    Professor McCallum chairs the University Education Management Advisory Committee, with responsibilities for all aspects of education across the University, and the Higher Education Course Approvals Committee. He also chairs the Admissions Management Committee with oversight of the admission of students to the University. He sits on all senior management committees of the University and as a Director on external Boards. He is regularly invited onto state, federal and international specialist committees and inquiries.
