Conor King

Institutional Strategist 

Conor's role is to monitor and advise on national, state and international developments in higher, vocational and further education, ensuring that VU is well positioned to respond to, and influence, national and state Government policies and programs.

He also has an important role in stimulating internal VU discussions across all portfolios to encourage a cross university perspective. He supports the Vice-Chancellor in her roles with Universities Australia and other national and State bodies and provides executive officer support for the Principal Officers Forum (POF) and Heads of Faculties (HOF) meetings.

Conor writes regularly for Campus Review.

Conor came to VU in 2006 after eight years as Director of Policy for the Australian Vice-Chancellors' Committee, the national University peak body (now transformed into Universities Australia). Prior to the AVCC Conor was a Senior Executive in the then Commonwealth Department of Health and Ageing with ten years experience in aged care and disability employment policy.
