Pro Vice-Chancellor Vocational Education
Anne is the Pro Vice Chancellor Vocational Education at Victoria University providing strategic leadership to the University's VE faculties. She manages the University's performance agreement with the Victorian Learning and Skills Commission and has positioned Victoria's second largest TAFE institution to address emerging and future workforce development needs. The new structure includes faculties of Technical and Trade Innovation and Workforce Development supported by a substantial VET research centre. Anne is currently responsible for leading the University's commitment to workforce development across all of its educational provision. This includes sponsoring the development of innovative cross-sectoral products such as a growing suite of work-based associate degrees.
Anne, originally trained as a scientist, has worked in vocational education for thirty years in a number of organisations: the then Bendigo College of Advanced Education, RMIT TAFE, the former Flagstaff College of TAFE, Box Hill Institute and, since late 2006, VU. This has involved working with a wide range of industries including: petrochemical, chemical, biomedical research, animal breeding, mining, meat and other food manufacturers, environmental, Zoo-keeping, health and community services. Anne has been involved in most aspects of vocational education and training delivery and has led a number of local and national initiatives including the development of first VCAL program and the first degrees delivered in a Victorian TAFE institute and several national curriculum projects.
She has a particular interest in nature of VET practice and her doctoral research examined how VET practitioners make professional judgements. Anne has had substantial experience in international work including business development and leadership of the internationalisation of curriculum, teaching practice and student mobility.
