VTAC Applicants VTAC Special Entry Access Schemes (SEAS)

The VTAC Special Entry Access Scheme (SEAS) is the umbrella program covering the special entry and access schemes conducted by tertiary institutions participating in the VTAC system. There are two distinct and separate schemes:

  • SEAS - Access and Equity
  • SEAS - Year 11/12 Special Consideration

SEAS - Access and Equity

Access and Equity Schemes are targeted at applicants who have been unable to reach their full educational potential or who may have access to the courses of their choice restricted because of their life circumstances.

The following is the list of SEAS-Access and Equity categories that Victoria University will consider during 2009 selection:

Category 1: Mature age consideration
Category 2: Non-English Speaking Background
Category 3: Recognition as an Indigenous Australian
Category 4: Difficult family circumstances
Category 5: Disadvantaged socio-economic background
Category 6: Applicants from rural or Isolated areas
Category 8: Women in non-traditional courses
Category 9: Personal disability or long-term medical condition
Category 10: Refugee status

SEAS - Year 11/12 Special Consideration application

This application is aimed at assisting those current year 12 (CY12) students who have experienced circumstances that can be demonstrated to have had an adverse impact on their performance during the final two years of secondary schooling.

Direct Admission Special Consideration

Applicants who apply to the University for courses available via Direct Entry can seek special consideration due to their life circumstances.

To do so, eligible applicants should complete and submit a Victoria University Direct Admission Special Consideration form by the relevant closing date. Further information about the scheme (including eligibility criteria) is available on the application form.

Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Descent (ATSI) The University encourages applications for all of our programs from Indigenous Australians. The University's Moondani Balluk (Wurundjeri for 'embrace people') provides student support services to Indigenous people to assist in the introduction and understanding of University life and provides an ongoing culturally safe environment. Prospective Indigenous Australian applicants are invited to contact Moodani Balluk staff to discuss the range of support services and pastoral care available and discuss course options. They are also encouraged to submit a Victoria University Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander (ATSI) Profile Information Formpdf in addition to lodging a course application.

Applicants with a Disability Prospective students with a disability are invited to contact Disability Services to discuss the range of services available. Students requiring support must register with Disability Services immediately after enrolment.
