Hospitality

Hospitality courses include Food and Beverage, Hospitality Management and Cookery. With two operational training restaurants  catering to the public, the Terrace Restaurant at Nicholson Street Campus and Victoria's Restaurant and Event Centre at Sunbury Campus, we can provide real life experience to students as they train for their careers. Our courses range from Certificate to Advanced Diploma, and articulate into our degree program.

Partnerships with a large number of secondary schools in the region also involve the Department in the delivery and auspicing of Vocational Education and Training (VET) in School Programs in hospitality, as well as close ties with business and industry, which means our students gain valuable, hands on real life experiences in functions and special events like the Melbourne Cup, Formula 1 Grand Prix, Australian Tennis Open, Australian Rules Football, Cricket and many other corporate and public occasions and events.

Tourism

The Tourism courses include International Retail Travel, Tour Operations, Sales and Marketing, Event Management, and incorporate many off-campus activities, as well as a number of activities linking directly with the tourism industry. Our training facilities have the latest computer and travel and event software installed so our students work in partnership with business and industry in both real life and simulated environments.

The School and University takes pride in the professionalism, reputation and success of its graduates. The university undertakes to provide its students with a positive learning experience and to assist them in realising their true vocational potential. Our courses range from Certificate to Diploma and articulate into our degree programs.

The University has won the Australian National Tourism Award twice and the State Victorian Tourism Award on five occasions, most recently in 2005; the University was inducted into the Tourism Hall of Fame for its third consecutive award of the Industry Education category of the Tourism Awards and was again a finalist in 2007.
