The School offers courses at certificate and diploma levels that provide vocational education for a variety of occupations in child services, ranging from pre-employment through to the para-professional level.  These qualifications prepare students for a range of roles, as both childcare assistants and qualified workers in a range of settings. These settings include centre based care, occasional care, out of school hours programs, family day care and in home care.
Courses provide graduates with good employment prospects particularly in the western metropolitan region where there is a high demand for qualified workers in the children's services sector. A pathway to degree studies has been developed, to the Faculty of Arts, Education and Human Development - Bachelor of Arts - Early Childhood Education.
The School has strong industry and community links, conducting training courses and providing consultancy services.

Certificate III in Children's Services   (CHC30402) 

This course is designed for individuals working as assistants in a range of children's services settings. These settings may include long day care centres, pre-school centres, occasional care centres and school aged care programs. The course enables students to develop their knowledge and understanding of early childhood development and school age children's development. The course prepares workers to use organisational policies, procedures and individual children's profiles to plan activities and provide care to children, facilitating their leisure and play and enabling them to achieve their developmental outcomes.

You will be qualified as a Children's Services Worker (Level 3) in a range of Children's Services settings

Certificate IV in Out of School Hours Care  (CHC40402)                                                                              

This course prepares individuals who conduct vacation programs and before and after school care based activities for children who are of school age. The course prepares workers to plan activities and provide care to children, facilitating their leisure and play activities that enable children to achieve their developmental outcomes. Workers may work under direct supervision or autonomously and are likely to have some supervisory responsibilities for volunteers and other workers.
You will be qualified as a Children's Services Worker (Level 3) in a range of Children's Services settings
You will be qualified as a Children's Services Worker (Level 3) or equivalent in a range of School Aged Care settings.

Diploma of Children's Services   (CHC50302)

This course covers workers who are responsible for developing and evaluating children's services programs. Workers at this level have responsibility for the supervision of other staff and volunteers.

You will be qualified as a Children's Services Worker (Level 4). With additional experience, progress to Director or Service Manager roles in a range of Children's Services settings.

Successful completion of the Diploma of Children's services may lead to a Bachelor of Arts - Early Childhood Education
