COMMUNITY SERVICE WORK
Certificate III in Community Services Work (CHC30802)
This course applies to community services work delivered through a broad range of services which provide support to individuals and groups.
It is a 25 week course, offered full time (4 days a week) from April to October.
Part time study or evening classes are not available for this course.
There are limited employment opportunities after completion of Certificate III. More opportunities exist for Diploma graduates. Employment opportunities include; Support worker, Client Contact Officer, Housing Support worker, Case-worker, Assistant Community worker, Residential Support worker.
Successful completion of this course provides eligibility to apply for one of the Diploma level courses offered in the School of Community Services.
There are no formal entry requirements, although applicants will need to demonstrate:
- A strong interest in pursuing a career in the community services industry
- Knowledge of the community services industry
- Adequate literacy and academic skills to cope with study requirements
- Personal attributes and values appropriate to a worker in this industry
- Commitment to social justice principles
