Scaffolding

To legally do Scaffolding work, you must complete the appropriate level of Certificate of Competency in order to get a WorkSafe licence/ticket.

Industry Skills Training provides the following scaffolding training courses (on this page):

AM I ELIGIBLE?
For all our scaffolding courses, you must be at least 18.

PLEASE NOTE
You must:

  • bring two passport photos to the first training session
  • provide proof of identity as per attached Proof of Identity Requirements for Undertaking a Course / WorkSafe Assessment
  • attend all scheduled training sessions at all scheduled times
  • wear safety boots during training
  • provide own writing materials including blue/black pen and paper.

WHERE IS IT?
All our scaffolding courses are held at:
Industry Skills Training, Gate 4 Hoppers Lane, Werribee.

BASIC SCAFFOLDING

Competency: BCG1007A Erect and Dismantle Limited Height Scaffolding
BCG3118A Erect and Dismantle Scaffold - Basic
(from Certificate III in General Construction BCG31398).
Develops the skills and knowledge required to safely and efficiently perform basic scaffolding work.

WHAT DOES IT COVER?
Basic scaffolding skills:

  • Plan Scaffolding Operations
  • Basic Scaffolding Equipment
  • Erect Pre-fabricated Scaffold
  • Inspect Pre-fabricated Scaffold
  • Alter and Repair Pre-fabricated Scaffold
  • Dismantle Pre-fabricated Scaffold
  • Erect Cantilevered Hoists not exceeding 500kgs
  • Inspect Cantilevered Hoists not exceeding 500kgs
  • Alter, Repair, Dismantle and Remove
  • Cantilevered Hoists not exceeding 500kg.

HOW LONG'S THE COURSE?
Full-time: 8am - 4pm, five days. Part-time 5:30 - 9:30pm (one or two nights per week).

WHAT DOES IT COST?
$253.00 per person (includes Tuition and Materials Fees).
Plus $60 per licence category to WorkSafe Victoria for National Certification.

INTERMEDIATE SCAFFOLDING

Competency: 2002AEC Intermediate Scaffolding

WHAT DOES IT COVER?
Develops the skills and knowledge required to safely and efficiently perform intermediate scaffolding work including:

  • Erect Tube and Coupler Scaffold
  • Inspect Tube and Coupler Scaffold
  • Alter and Repair Tube and Coupler Scaffold
  • Dismantle Tube and Coupler Scaffold
  • Cantilevered Crane Loading Platform
  • Inspect Mast Climber.

HOW LONG'S THE COURSE?
Full-time: 8am - 4pm, four days. Part-time 5:30 - 9:30pm (one or two nights per week).

WHAT DOES IT COST?
$217.00 per person (includes Tuition and Materials Fees).
Plus $60 per licence category to WorkSafe Victoria for National Certification.

COMBINED BASIC / INTERMEDIATE SCAFFOLDING

Develops the skills and knowledge required to safely and efficiently perform basic and intermediate scaffolding work.

WHAT DOES IT COVER?
See course content for basic and intermediate scaffolding.

HOW LONG'S THE COURSE?
Full-time: 8am - 4pm, nine days. Part-time 5:30 - 9:30pm (one or two nights per week).

WHAT DOES IT COST?
$416.00 per person (includes Tuition and Materials Fees).
Plus $60 per licence category to WorkSafe Victoria for National Certification.

ADVANCED SCAFFOLDING

Competency: 2002AFC Advanced Scaffolding
Prerequisite: WorkSafe Intermediate Scaffolding Certificate of Competency.

WHAT DOES IT COVER?
Develops the skills and knowledge required to safely and efficiently perform advanced scaffolding work including:

  • Erect Hung Scaffold
  • Erect Suspended Scaffold
  • Inspect Hung and Suspended Scaffolds
  • Alter, Repair and Dismantle Hung and Suspended Scaffolds.

HOW LONG'S THE COURSE?
Full-time: 8am - 4pm, four days.

WHAT DOES IT COST?
$199.00 per person (includes Tuition and Materials Fees).
Plus $60 per licence category to WorkSafe Victoria for National Certification.
