Mobile Crane
To legally operate most mobile cranes, you must complete this Certificate of Competency in order to get a WorkSafe licence/ticket.
Competency TDTD4401A Shift Loads Using Cranes
(from Certificate III in Transport and Distribution (Road Transport) TDT30202)
Provides basic training in the safe operation of Mobile Slewing (up to 60 tonnes), Non-Slewing and Vehicle Loading Cranes and includes WorkSafe assessment (cost included in course fee). To enable you to get the maximum operating experience, class size is limited to six people and two cranes will be available.
AM I ELIGIBLE?
You must:
- be at least 18
- have completed a Dogging Certificate of Competency.
WHAT DOES IT COVER?
In addition to practical training on a variety of mobile cranes, the course covers:
- Regulations and Legislation
- Occupational Health and Safety
- Operator Responsibilities
- Hazard Identification
- Crane Types and Components
- Pre-operational Checks
- Crane Principles
- Crane Direction and Signals
- Reading Crane Charts
- Slings and Lifting Gear.
HOW LONG'S THE COURSE?
Full-time: 8am - 4pm, nine days.
Part-time 5:30 - 9:30pm (one or two nights per week).
WHERE IS IT?
Industry Skills Training, Gate 4 Hoppers Lane, Werribee.
WHAT DOES IT COST?
$305.40 per person (includes Tuition and Materials Fees).
Plus $60 per licence category to WorkSafe Victoria for National Certification.
PLEASE NOTE
You must:
- bring two passport photos to the first training session
- provide proof of identity as per attached Proof of Identity Requirements for Undertaking a Course / WorkSafe Assessment
- attend all scheduled training sessions at all scheduled times
- wear safety boots during training
- provide own writing materials including blue/black pen and paper
- bring a calculator that is able to calculate square root.
