Forklift

To legally operate a forklift truck without supervision, you must complete this Certificate of Competency in order to get a WorkSafe licence/ticket.

Competency TDTD1097B Operate Forklifts
(from Certificate II in Transport and Distribution (Warehousing and Storage) TDT20102)
Provides basic driver training in the safe operation of Forklift Trucks including Rider, Reach and Pedestrian types and includes WorkSafe assessment (cost included in course fee). To enable you to get the maximum operating experience, class size is limited to eight people and four Forklifts will be available.

AM I ELIGIBLE?
You must be at least 18. Ability to drive a car would be an advantage.

WHAT DOES IT COVER?
In addition to practical training on a variety of Forklifts to load trucks, racks and containers, the course covers:

  • Regulations and Legislation
  • Occupational Health and Safety
  • Operator Responsibilities
  • Hazard Identification
  • Accident Causes
  • Forklift Types and Components
  • Pre-operational Checks
  • Safe Operating Practice
  • Forklift Stability and Capacity
  • Load Handling and Attachments
  • Load Weight Assessment.

HOW LONG'S THE COURSE?
Full-time: 8am - 4pm, five days.
Part-time 5:30 - 9:30pm (one or two nights per week).

WHERE IS IT?
Industry Skills Training, Gate 4 Hoppers Lane, Werribee.

WHAT DOES IT COST?
$238.20 per person (includes Tuition and Materials Fees).
Plus $60 per licence category to WorkSafe Victoria for National Certification.
