The School of Molecular Sciences  operates at the Werribee campus of the University. In line with Faculty objectives, the School is committed to the development and promotion of science and technology, offering courses in:

  • Applied Science Chemistry   
  • Biotechnology         
  • Nutrition, Food and Health Science   
  • Medical, Forensic and Analytical Chemistry

Study is available at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

The School provides students with a combination of theoretical knowledge and practical experiences, producing graduates that are well equipped for entry into today's dynamic work environment.

The School also seeks to foster students with a personal pride in, and a professional attitude to their work, including a full understanding of their responsibilities to society as trained scientists and technologists.

The School is actively involved in research and consultancy, ensuring quality teaching and practical courses. Most of the staff hold a doctoral degree, as well as substantial research and consultancy experience. The School endeavours to develop close relationships with industry and the community, including collaborative projects.

The School seeks to provide students with vocationally and educationally oriented experiences and expertise which will best equip them for entry into a work environment in which there is likely to be significant career changes during their working life.  Consequently, the Schoolprovides courses and programs with a close relationship between theory and practice, and seeks to include relevant industrial  experience within each award course.

The School also seeks to foster within its students a personal pride in, and a professional attitude to their work and a full understanding to their responsiblities to society as trained scientists and technologists.

It is the belief of the School that active involvement in research and consultancy is vital in providing quality teaching as well as in developing a viable and practical course for the students.  To this end, all of the academic staff have a doctoral degree and substantial research and consultancy experience.  The School endeavours to develop close relationships with industry and with the community to keep abreast of their respective needs.  To this end student projects are performed in collaboration with industry, the community, government bodies, and research institutes wherever possible.

The School also offers postgraduate courses and programs leading to the following degrees: 

  • Master of Science by Research 
  • Doctor of Philosophy by research  
  • Masters Coursework    
  • Graduate Diploma Coursework
