The School is committed to a student-centred approach consistent with the University's philosophy of personalised study and access, and all staff members make themselves available at designated times for individual student consultations. The School seeks to create a welcoming, supportive and stimulating learning and social environment for all students, particularly overseas students, mature-age students, students with disabilities, and students from non-English speaking backgrounds. Mentoring programs for commencing students, and strategies for assisting students with study or writing problems, are key priorities.
The School of Social Sciences runs a seminar program and everyone is welcome to attend. Flyers for each seminar will be placed on global email close to the seminar date.
