Main Research Areas:

The School of Psychology places a high priority on promoting an active research culture among staff and postgraduate students.

The School fosters research in its specialised postgraduate programs of clinical, neuropsychological, community, sports psychology and counselling. Staff research is carried out across a broad range of topics but the School has a particular focus, through its Wellness Promotion Unit, in researching the factors the promote and impede optimal health and wellbing at the level of the individual, the group and the community. This research considers the multiple social determinants of wellness including cultural and linguistic diversity, race, gender and social position and seeks to identify the most effective means for promoting wellness in a way that meets the needs of people living in the Western Region of Melbourne.
