Casual / TAFE Block Rates
Fees 2009
Damages/Default Deposit: $400.00 Payable by all Residents.
Casual Daily Rate (overnight): $ 35.00 (standard room) and $36.35(ensuite room) with minimum three night stay.
Monthly Rate: $ 25.85(standard) and $30.75(ensuite) per night with minimum stay one month.
Special TAFE Block Release Rate: $ 23.10(standard) and $28.00(ensuite) per night with minimum stay of 3 nights.
Linen can be hired for $5 per night (minimum hire is 3 nights), preferably you can bring your own.
Please Note:
Casual residents must pay in advance for the full length of their expected stay or for one calendar month whichever is the shorter.
Monthly Rate guests who terminate their residency prior to the completion of their full month of residency will forfeit any unused portion of their fees.
Any eligible refund due to the resident is refunded by Victoria University, after their departure in a cheque format to a nominated address. Credit card refunds considered on request.
Cash refunds are not possible,
Accommodation is not available for less than three consecutive nights.
Deposits and Levies
Student Club Levy
Annual contribution by all residents to recreation facilities, social activities, and the orientation program. Not refundable. The levy is collected on behalf of the Student Village/Sunbury Hall Student Clubs for social, sporting and related activities.
Academic Development Levy
A once only contribution made by new residents towards the cost of existing and future facilities and services at the Village. A proportion of the funds generated is also used for the provision of scholarships. Not refundable.
Damages/Default Deposit
A refundable deposit held to cover the costs of outstanding fees and damages that includes; damages attributable to an individual resident; unidentified damages that occur in their individual college and/or general shared community damages. Any remaining portion is credited to the resident's account on departure. Should the sum of any damages or outstanding fees exceed the $400 Damages/Default Deposit the resident will be liable to cover these costs.
A resident terminating their residency before the completion of the Agreed Minimum Term will forfeit this deposit entirely. Any outstanding fees or damages under these circumstances must be settled without the aid of the Damages/Default Deposit.

University Residences can only accept payments in Australian Currency. Furthermore, University Residences can not process direct deposits into a bank account and as such will not supply bank account details for payments.
All students are required to pay their accommodation and acceptance fees on arrival. Therefore, if you plan to arrive outside of business hours please ensure you have the means with which to pay your accommodation fees such as cash, cheque, bank draft, travellers cheques, EFTPOS or credit card. Non payment will result in non-admittance.
