Residence Life Team (RLT)
Senior residents of the University Residences are eligible to apply for a position on the Residence Life Team (RLT), which is a peer support and leadership program. This dedicated team of residents perform the roles of Academic Advisers, Community Advisers, Social and Sporting Co-ordinators and College Activity Co-ordinators.
Throughout the year the RLT members will organise and co-ordinate numerous academic and social activities, including (and not limited to) Orientation activities, Faculty Dinners, Academic Dinners, College Camps, Day Trips, College Challenges, Meals, and Sporting Competitions. There is also a Co-ordinator who is produces a three weekly Student Village newsletter and an annual magazine.
Through these programs and activities, the RLT support residents in their transition into University Life and the residential environment. They are also available for friendly chats, as an information source and act as a referral service. As returning students they have an in-depth knowledge of university learning resources.
Becoming a member of the RLT involves two weeks of training, and when combined with the practical experience in fulfilling the role during the academic year, it provides an excellent leadership experience that reads very well on a resume.
