RETURNING TO EARNING PROGRAM 2008 - FOR PARENTS

If you are enrolling into a course and have a Returning to Earning Grant you are able to claim up to $1,000 in costs for course fees, books, materials and childcare fees. You must apply for the grant prior to enrolment. Information regarding eligibility and how to apply for the grant is available on the web site at http://www.returningtoearning.com.au

CLAIMING ENROLMENT FEES FOR VOCATIONAL EDUCATION OR FURTHER EDUCATION COURSES

If you are in receipt of Returning to Earning Grant you are advised to attend your designated enrolment session to enrol in your chosen course. You will not be required to pay the enrolment fees.

You must bring your Returning to Earning grant document, information confirming the balance of your grant  (you can obtain the balance of your grant by looking it up on the Returning to Earning website if you have been provided a password or by calling the Returning To Earning program hot line  1300 303 413).

Student Service Centres will process your enrolment form and will provide you with an invoice which states that you have 4 weeks to pay your enrolment fees. The Enrolment form will then be sent to the Admission and Enrolments section for processing. If your grant does not fully cover the amount of your fees you will receive via the post, an invoice for the balance of the enrolment fees for that Fee Cap Period.

The sponsor invoice will be sent to Student Engagement office at Footscray Nicholson Campus.

Once your grant eligibility has been verified, Victoria University will lodge a claim with RTE-AMES Education for your enrolment fees.                                                                                                                                                                                                                

CLAIMING BOOKS, MATERIALS OR CHILDCARE COSTS RELATING TO THE COURSE

Students who wish to claim for books, materials with the remaining grant balance are required to pay for these items and seek reimbursement with RTE-AMES Education.

If you applied and received a grant using a the hard copy form you will not have a log in password, you will have to complete the "Claim Request For Pre Paid Training and Training Related Costs Other Than Childcare" form or the "Request for Childcare Expenses" and send those forms to RTE-AMES Education with the original receipts so you can be reimbursed. Forms can be obtained at Student Engagement office or by printing them from the Returning to Earning website www.returningtoearning.com .au

If you have a log in password, follow the instructions on the Returning to Earning website http://www.returningtoearning.com.au to claim reimbursement for your training costs.

Please note: 
Full fee short courses are not eligible for the Returning to Earning Grant 

Where training is to be undertaken in a higher education course, the applicant must liaise directly with RTE-AMES education
