INFORMATION FOR CURRENT SCHOLARSHIP HOLDERS

What do I have to do to renew my scholarship?

Before each payment, we will write to you asking you to confirm your enrolment status, income situation and other eligibility details. You are required to return your declaration by the specified date. Renewal letters are sent to the mailing address recorded in myVU Portal. Please make sure your details are correct.

Some scholarships (CECS and CAS) are paid twice per year so we will write to you each semester, then check your enrolment and eligibility status after census date each semester. Payments are made after the census date checks are completed so we are unable to pay your scholarship earlier than these scheduled times (late April and September).

For scholarships with only one payment each year,  your payment will be made within one month of receipt of your declaration of eligibility. Please do not ask for an earlier payment, we are unable to process individual payments, and each request slows us down.

Students in need of financial assistance should visit Student Loans

Can I apply for another scholarship if I already have one?

Yes, we encourage you to apply for a more valuable scholarship than the one you already hold. If you are successful, you will be asked to relinquish the scholarship of lesser value. If another scholarship is awarded to you on the basis of academic success, or by an external organisation, you may be able to hold both scholarships, but we will ask to assess the effect on your income.

What do I do if my circumstances have changed?

You must contact the Scholarships Office by phone (9919.5568) or email imediately to notify any of the following changes to your circumstances:

  • Changes in your financial situation
  • Decrease in your study load
  • Changes in your family situation
  • Increases in your income
  • Changes to your disability status
  • If you transfer to a different course
  • If you take leave of absence from your studies
  • If you withdraw from your studies
