When you start university there are many things to do and keep track of, especially during the first four weeks of semester.
Week One - Getting Started
This is the time for scheduling and attending your first classes.
It is a good idea to
- Get to know other students in your classes,
- Join a club,
- Organise your timetable,
- Peruse the VU Academic Calender to keep you up to date with key events and dates,
- Read the Resources for New Students,
- Read the Starting a New Course resources in the Student Learning Hub, and
- Have a look at the Current Students pages, which have lots of information about studying and getting involved.
Now is the tine to sign up to Survive @ VU to receive "Weekly Tips" emails on study skills.
Week Two - Settling In
Familiarise yourself with services that are available, and what is happening on campus. This will help you gain a sense of belonging to the university.
Browse through the Support Services pages, which contains information on support services offered by the University. Consult the Campus Life pages to learn how you can get involved and meet new friends, and don't forgetto look at the VUSU website.
