Students from Victoria University's Multimedia Program at the School of Creative Industries are contributing work to a revealing exhibition as a part of Hepatitis C Awareness Week, which will be officially opened by the Victorian Health Minister, The Hon. Daniel Andrews on Monday 19 May, 2008.

VU's Alan Morgans, who is the Industry Based Learning Coordinator at School of Creative Industries said: "All students in the Multimedia Program of the School of Creative Industries have contributed work to this exhibition as a part of Hepatitis C Awareness Week. The exhibition has been initiated by Hepatitis C Victoria and is a part of their Awareness Week activities."

"Our students have worked with volunteers who live with Hepatitis C to create both interactive and print based works that tackle many issues that affect people living with this disease. The work covers issues around discrimination and social impacts as well as preventative strategies especially aimed at young people."

"Around eighty students are represented in the exhibition which features exclusively work by VU students."

National Hepatitis Awareness Week, runs from 19-26 May, and 19 May is also World Hepatitis Day.

According to Hepatitis C Victoria, approximately one in every twelve people around the world are affected by hepatitis B or C - that's 500 million people.
