With the Doggies having gone through 8 Rounds undefeated the match on Sunday is sure to be a thriller when they take on the Roos - the Telstra Dome will be hopping. All the doggie supporters in the west will be hoping they continue to be the winning breed and best in show on the day.
And Victoria University will be part of the action as sponsor of the Western Bulldogs vs North Melbourne match this weekend, Sunday 25 May.
There will be buskers and performers from VU, an attempt at the world's largest pass-the-parcel game, free massages by VU massage students, and a whole lot more.
The run-through banner will be emblazoned with the words "We've got options, Losing isn't one of them" encouraging people check out their study options at VU.
Coral Cara, Lecturer in the School of Education, who works at the University's Footscray Park Campus, will toss the coin at the start of the match, with her husband Lou who used to be a lolly boy at the Footscray games as a young 'un.
Coral says that this will be a special day for her and husband Lou who both grew up in the west, are life long footy fans, and very proud to represent VU.
And there is also a real live mascot on the day - eight year old Jye Richardson, proud son of VU's Lisa Richardson from the Portfolio of Learning for Work and Community Service at Footscray Park Campus.
Jye's winning entry said: "I just love the Western Bulldogs and mum takes me on the train every week to see them play. I am eight years old and my favourite player is 'Akker'. Mum tells me that the Western Bulldogs are the best team because her work sponsors them and she even used to help some of them in their courses."
There will also be special activities for kids of all ages; and in conjunction with the Bulldogs VU will also be running the K9 Kids Zone full of fun and games for the whole family.
VU is a proud partner of the Western Bulldogs, and this is the third year for it to sponsor an AFL match.
