Victoria University Sports Camps for children aged 6 to 15, are running again for the Easter school holidays from Monday 31 March to Friday 4 April 2008 at the University's Sports & Aquatic Centre, at Footscray Park Campus.
With the latest news that overweight Australian kids are expected to die years earlier than their thinner counterparts - it's a great time for them to get active.
The camps are:
Multi Sport Junior Camp - a general sporting program for 6-8 year olds.
Students participate in a wide variety of activities to develop fundamental physical movement skills to allow them to gain an appreciation for personal fitness. The activities include games designed to develop specific skills such as hand-eye coordination, team play and body awareness in a cooperative and supportive environment.
Multi Sport Intermediate Camp - a general sporting program for 9-11 year olds.
The activities offered develop a deeper understanding of the sporting skills used in various sports. Along with the extra emphasis on progressing in sport specific skills, the program also encompasses modified games to encourage learning of rules associated with various sports.
Multi Sport Senior Camp - a general sporting program for 12-14 year olds.
This program takes students through the fundamentals and polishes skills, drills and team play so that each participant can be a valuable player in a wide variety of sports.
Telstra Football Anytime Camp (Soccer) for 7-15 year olds.
Children work in groups based on their age and skill level, and refine essential skills in the areas of blocking, passing, shooting and other aspects of the game of soccer - with plenty of drills and match practice.
