"VU has been a very important part of a number of exciting projects. We recently won a national award for a project I have been working on with the Horn of Africa community.
They are fantastic to work with, and real evidence that demonstrates the University's commitment to engaging its local community and not losing sight of that social justice framework. I think that is particularly important. That project is at the cutting edge of the sort of policy and practice debates at the moment on refugees coming into this country.
It's not just about the academic quality, though that's important, it's about the connection with the community and those sort of important practice links. It's the tension between creativity, business acumen, entrepreneurship and social justice that makes it a really exciting place to work.
I'd take four words to describe Victoria University: eclectic, diverse, challenging and creative."
